By using foen you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
foen is a free video phone that runs in a web page, operated by sun-dive (the operator). It gives you a number, lets you share it, and lets you call and be called by other foen numbers. There is no account, no subscription and no charge. The service on freefoen.com is paid for by advertising; homefoen.com carries none.
You must be at least thirteen years old, or use foen with the involvement of a parent or guardian. If you set foen up for someone else, you are responsible for explaining these terms to them.
Your number is created on your device from twelve recovery words. The words are the only way to restore the number on another device. You are responsible for keeping them safe. The operator does not hold them, cannot recover them, and cannot restore a number for you. Anyone who has your words has your number and your foenbook.

The operator may restrict, suspend or block the use of the service by a device, an address or a number that breaks these terms or harms the service, with or without notice, and may remove a public listing. The operator does not monitor calls and cannot, since they are encrypted end to end.
What you say and show on a call is yours. The operator claims no rights in it and cannot read or record it. Your foenbook is yours; the operator stores an encrypted backup it cannot open, as the privacy policy describes. If you list yourself in the public phone book, you are publishing the name and number you entered to anyone who reads the book, and you are responsible for that name.
The foenbook backup is provided as a convenience. Keep your own copy: Settings lets you download your foenbook as a file. The operator is not responsible for a foenbook or a number that is lost because the words were lost, the device was cleared, or backup was turned off.
Advertisements on foen are images the operator hosts and links the operator chose. Some are affiliate links, from which the operator may earn a commission. Following a link takes you to another site under that site's own terms and policies, for which the operator is not responsible.
foen cannot call emergency services. It is not a replacement for an emergency telephone or for any service on which safety depends.
foen is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The operator does not promise that the service will be available, uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that calls will connect or stay connected.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profit or goodwill, arising from the use of or inability to use the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service, which is nothing.
You agree to hold the operator harmless from claims arising from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the service.
You may stop using foen at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser. The operator may end or change the service, or any part of it, at any time.
These terms may change. The date at the top is the date of the version in force. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the changed terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Taiwan (Republic of China), without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute is subject to the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be taken away.
The page you are using is published under the Business Source License 1.1. The relay and server software are operated by the operator and are not published. Using the service does not require accepting the software licence.
